In the last few years, the field of IoT and especially smart home applications has seen a near exponential growth in both customizable protocols and out-of-the-box applications which everyone and their mother have in their homes. These applications are often well suited for their environments, e.g. monitoring and controlling a home, but may be less customizable than what some desire….
The nRF9160 SiP supports the use of both LTE-M and GPS. We want to show how these can be used in an application at the same time. In this project we demonstrate this by using the nRF9160 DK to send the GPS position of the DK to Google Cloud, which will then be sent to and shown on a map. Additionally, the user can plot out a path on the map for the nRF9160 DK to traverse. A micro:bit will draw an arrow pointing in the direction of the first marker on the path…
Nordic offers 6–12 months paid full-time placements for students. You will be part of a team working on various project related tasks, doing research and development under supervision of a mentor and a team lead. You will enhance your technical skills, gain valuable industry experience and expand your professional network before graduating. Conducting a placement at Nordic will strengthen your chances of being recruited in a graduate position at Nordic.
