nPM1300 Power Management IC

Highly integrated PMIC with unique system management features.

The nPM1300 is a highly integrated multifunction Power Management IC (PMIC) that includes battery charger, an algorithm-based fuel gauge, two ultra-efficient buck regulators, two LDOs / load switches, and comprehensive system management functions into a single device. The nPM1300 reduces both board space and bill of materials while replacing multiple discrete components while enabling greater design flexibility through a fully I²C-compatible TWI interface. 

The nPM1300 includes an algorithm-based battery fuel gauge solution with state of charge and state of health reporting. It comes with coulomb counter accuracy, ultra-low power operation and does not require any extra components. A rich set of system management features including a hardware watchdog, power loss warning, hard reset supervisory circuit, failed boot recovery, ship and hibernate modes.

    • Supported battery types: Li-ion, Li-poly, and LiFePO₄
    • Charge current: 32 - 800 mA
    • Charging termination voltage: 3.5 – 4.45 V
      • 50 mV termination voltage steps
    • Battery input voltage: 2.3 - 4.45 V
    • Dynamic power-path
    • JEITA compliant
    • Battery pack NTC input for battery protection and fuel gauging
  • Fuel gauge including battery health
    • State of charge, state of health and cycle tracking
  • System regulator
    • USB type-C compliant with 100 mA, 500 mA, and 1500 mA current limit
    • Input voltage: 4.0 – 5.5 V
    • 22V overvoltage protection
    • Unregulated system rail
      • Output voltage: 3 – 5.5 V 
      • Output current: 1A (from battery), 1.5A (from USB)

Voltage regulators

  • Two buck regulators
    • Output current: 200 mA
    • Output voltage: 1.0 – 3.3 V
      • 100 mV steps
    • Automatic hysteretic and PWM mode switching, or forced PWM mode
    • Power conversion efficiency up to 93%
  • Two LDOs / load switches
    • Output current: 50 mA (LDO) / 100 mA (load switch)
    • Output voltage: 1.0 – 3.3 V
      • 100 mV steps (LDO)

System management

  • Hard reset (one or two buttons)
  • Watchdog timer

  • Ship mode: 370 nA
