FAQ
Frequently asked questions for the nPM2100 PMIC [HTML]
The nPM2100 is a Power Management IC specifically engineered for primary-cell battery applications, addressing the unique power management requirements of non-rechargeable battery-powered products. It supports Alkaline AA/AAA/LRxx cells (up to two in series), 3 V LiMnO₂ coin cells (CR2032 and similar), single- or dual-cell silver oxide and zinc-air coin-cell batteries, or any primary battery within 0.7–3.4 V input range.
This is accomplished though an ultra-efficient boost regulator with auto pass-through mode which allows batteries to be used all the way down to their functional endpoint. The on-chip LDO enables the use of a second voltage rail.
The nPM2100 includes an algorithm-based battery fuel gauge and a rich set of system management features including a hardware watchdog, hard reset, failed-boot recovery, break-to-wake, ship and hibernate mode.
Supported batteries: alkaline AA/AAA/LRxx (1S and 2S), 3 V LiMnO₂ coin cells, and other primary batteries
