Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF5340 Audio DK has been shortlisted for the Electronic Specifier ‘Electronics Excellence Award’ to be presented at the upcoming Embedded World exhibition and conference in Nuremberg, Germany. The nRF5340 Audio DK is a design platform for the rapid development of Bluetooth® LE Audio (LE Audio) products. The Audio DK contains everything needed to get started on LE Audio development projects, and is based on Nordic’s nRF5340 SoC, the world’s first wireless SoC with two Arm® Cortex®-M33 processors.
The Electronics Excellence Awards are hosted by Electronic Specifier, one of Europe’s premier media companies servicing the global electronics industry. The winner will be decided by an independent judging panel from the six shortlisted finalists, based on the product’s degree of technical innovation.
The nRF5340 Audio DK is the first complete LE Audio development kit that is affordable and publicly available for anyone, making it easy to embark on LE Audio projects. It is highly configurable allowing it to function as a USB dongle to send and receive high-quality audio data from a PC, a business headset, or a True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbud. Nordic Semiconductor also provides open access to software and technical support to all developers, including hobbyists.
“LE Audio is a true game changer, bringing with it a host of improvements that promise to revolutionize the world of wireless audio,” says Vince Hagen, Business Development Manager for LE Audio with Nordic Semiconductor. “With better audio quality, more robust wireless connectivity, vastly improved battery life, and support for TWS devices, LE Audio sets a new standard for sound excellence.”
Vince also expressed his enthusiasm for the technology's potential, saying: “We are thrilled to see the nRF5340 Audio DK recognized in this award, and we're excited for more developers to discover its benefits as they design the next generation of LE Audio solutions."
