We will bring to the show our latest solutions on cellular IoT (LTE-M and NB-IoT), Bluetooth Low Energy, Bluetooth mesh, Thread and Zigbee. We will display our products, development kits and a variety of customer products, in addition to demos showing you the technology.

Feel free to talk our experts about your projects. Both cellular IoT and Bluetooth LE are changing the smart metering and utility market, and we will be happy to discuss about the challenges and opportunities introduced by these two technologies. We can help you to address the following questions:

  • Which wireless technology is better for smart electricity meters? LTE-M or NB-IoT, or both?
  • Can utilities leverage standard protocol (e.g. DLMS/COSEM) when using LTE-M or NB-IoT?
  • Which wireless technology is better for gas and water meters?
  • Why is it better to use Power Saving Mode (PSM) rather than switching off the modem?
  • How to design ultrasonic flow meters to last 16+ years?
  • What are the most critical aspects when choosing and designing smart meters with LTE-M / NB-IoT?
  • In order to fully benefit from cellular IoT, is it possible to use old HW architectures or is a new approach required?
  • Is it really possible to achieve low power? How?
  • Are cellular IoT networks mature? How to take it into account in your design?
  • How to accelerate the go-to-market process?
  • How will the choice of wireless connectivity impact TCO of the smart meter infrastructure?
  • Why is the choice of device management platform important?
  • How can Bluetooth LE be used to improve operations? E.g Installation and commissioning?
  • Are cellular IoT and low power wireless part of your 5-10 years strategy plan?
  • …and more

nRF9160 SiP - A new benchmark in the cellular IoT market
With the launch of the pre-certified LTE-M and NB-IoT nRF9160 System-in-Package, Nordic has set a new benchmark in the cellular IoT market. Having fully designed the nRF9160 SiP in-house, from bottom to top, it sets a new standard for low power, level of integration and developer friendliness for cellular IoT.

The nRF9160 SiP features a dedicated application processor and a multimode LTE-M/NB-IoT/GPS modem

  • Application processor: Arm Cortex-M33 CPU, with dedicated flash and RAM fully available for application
  • LTE modem: LTE-M, NB-IoT and GPS, supporting all bands between 700 MHz and 2.2 GHz

The module has unprecedented small form factor, thanks to an advanced System-in-Package technology: it measures only 10x16mm, including PMIC, RF front end, passives and crystals.

Rapid prototyping with Nordic Thingy:91
We will bring our Nordic Thingy:91 that launched in August 2019, an easy-to-use battery-operated prototyping platform for cellular IoT using LTE-M, NB-IoT and GPS. It is ideal for creating Proof-of-Concept (PoC), demos and initial prototypes in your cIoT development phase.

Thingy:91 is built around the nRF9160 SiP and is certified for a broad range of LTE bands globally, meaning the Nordic Thingy:91 can be used just about anywhere in the world. The cellular communication can interleaved elegantly with GPS positioning acquisition making it perfect for sophisticated asset-tracking product ideas.
