Nordic Partner Program

The Nordic Partner Program strengthens ties with design and solution partners to help Nordic customers speed development of wireless solutions

Nordic Semiconductor today announces the launch of the ‘Nordic Partner Program’ (NPP), creating an ecosystem of companies with experience of Nordic’s solutions that will drive greater adoption of wireless technology and help the company’s customers bring their wireless products to market faster. The NPP includes both ‘Design Partners’ and ‘Solution Partners’ that can assist Nordic customers by providing products, services, and solutions that complement Nordic’s portfolio of short-range wireless and low power cellular IoT connectivity hardware, firmware, development tools, and reference designs.

Design and Solution Partners

During the pilot project phase of the NPP, eight leading IoT companies signed up to the NPP framework including Design Partners CA Engineering, Indesign, Sigma Connectivity, Shenzhen Minew Technologies Co.,Ltd., Meshtech, and NORBIT, as well as Solution Partner Telenor ASA. German firm grandcentrix has joined both as a Design Partner and Solution Partner. Design Partners are familiar with Nordic technologies and can offer design consultancy, design engineering or ODM services. They can assist with a specific aspect of a complex design or provide turnkey solutions, and can be used by Nordic customers to outsource or accelerate the design and launch of new products. Solution Partners can provide solutions that run on Nordic technology—for example third party protocols and development kits, or real time location services (RTLS)—and complementary technologies such as Cloud and cellular connectivity, as well as pre-production services such as programming, testing and certification.

New technologies increasingly involve greater complexity, both in terms of protocols and in terms of the number of components needed in order for a product to work. In many cases, Nordic customers need to work together with a number of partners in order to build a system and bring it to production. With the NPP, Solution Partners can provide essential building blocks so customers don’t need to start from scratch in their product development, while Design Partners can fill knowledge gaps when customers lack specific competencies or want to speed up development.

“Nordic Semiconductor has long believed in abstracting all the unnecessary complexity away from the designer, and with the launch of the NPP this goal will be further achieved,” says Geir Langeland, EVP Sales and Marketing, Nordic Semiconductor. “Wireless technology is disrupting many traditional businesses and enabling new applications, and companies without wireless solutions are going to be left behind, but many of them have no experience with wireless.

“NPP partners have solid experience of Nordic technologies and can help. Many of them offering turnkey services that are able to transform ideas into products, get the products connected, and bring them to high volume manufacturing.”

NPP applications open

The NPP is now officially open to all companies already working with Nordic. Companies wishing to become NPP Design or Solution partners should contact their Nordic sales representative. Following the qualification process, members can leverage Nordic Semiconductor marketing channels and gain access to dedicated technical resources including training and roadmaps.
