Nordic Semiconductor and Premier Farnell sign global distribution deal to provide full service availability and support for Nordic’s ultra low power wireless solutions

U.K.-based distributor to supply Nordic’s complete range of wireless connectivity hardware, firmware, development tools, and reference designs across 38 countries worldwide 

Nordic Semiconductor today announces it has signed a new worldwide distribution agreement with Premier Farnell, a Leeds, U.K.-based global distributor of electronics components and design services for over 80 years. The deal covers the distribution of Nordic’s Bluetooth® Low Energy (Bluetooth LE), ANT+, IEEE 802.15.4, and 2.4GHz proprietary ultra low power (ULP) wireless connectivity solutions worldwide.

Part of the Avnet group, Premier Farnell has more than 3500 employees across 38 countries, with six global distribution centers. The company not only provides full service availability for electronic components and products, but also offers RF hardware and firmware design and manufacturing services to makers, start-ups, and established OEMs alike.

The company will supply Nordic’s complete range of ULP wireless connectivity hardware, firmware, development tools, and reference designs, including the recently launched nRF52840 System-on-Chip (SoC), an advanced multiprotocol device supporting Bluetooth 5, ANT, IEEE 802.15.4, and 2.4GHz proprietary technologies, and the nRF52810 SoC, a high-performance, entry level Bluetooth 5 multiprotocol device.
