GENERAL DESCRIPTION
nRF903 is the first professional spec multi-band transceiver available from Nordic VLSI. This new transceiver sets the standard for performance vs. cost. The nRF903 fulfils the applicable frequency regulations world-wide for multiple license-free ISM (Industrial, Scientific, Medical) frequency bands. Any RF system utilizing the unique features of the nRF903 will be robust and efficient. Using the carrier sense output for "listen before transmit" gives the option of a dynamic channel select protocol. Systems requiring a high degree of transmission reliability can even expand this to a frequency hopping protocol. The fast and easy serial programming of the nRF903 will set the frequency band and channel in use. The high data rate of the nRF903 may be used for efficiently transmitting large amounts of data, or in systems with lower data rate requirements be used for shorter airtime with reduced probability of collision. The industrial temperature specification and low external component count will give a rugged design for demanding applications. The trimming-free design lends itself to low-cost production and long lifetime for the end product.
