Concurrent multi-role Bluetooth 4.2 protocol stack for nRF52 Series SoC
Nordic Semiconductor’s S132 v3.0 is a Bluetooth 4.2 qualified single-mode protocol stack for building advanced, high-performance Bluetooth® low energy applications on the nRF52 Series multi-protocol SoC.
The S132 offers all 4 Bluetooth low energy roles, supports up to eight connections and enables concurrent role operation:
This S132 release introduces a number of key Bluetooth 4.2 features that can significantly improve your application’s performance.
New features of the S132 v3.0 release:
- Data Packet Length Extensions
- Configurable ATT MTU
- Link Layer Ping
- Link Layer Privacy
Data Packet Length Extensions and Configurable ATT MTU enable longer packet sizes and much higher throughput that previous Bluetooth low energy standards.
Link Layer Ping and Link Layer Privacy enable improvements in privacy and the ability to enable limitations to the tracking of Bluetooth low energy products.
The S132 is delivered as a pre-qualified binary file available for download from Nordic Semiconductor. As a pre-qualified binary file it is independent of application development and allows for a much simpler, safer development process when making Bluetooth low energy applications.
